Creative Industries Cluster, Institute for Advanced Studies, University of Stirling

I helped launch a research cluster in February 2025 dedicated to advancing innovative and interdisciplinary research that bridges theory and practice in the creative industries. Our aims are to critically examine local, national, and transnational creative industries media economies, organizations and labour, as well as influence global creative practices and policy. We were pleased to invite applications in March, 2025 for fully funded PhD opportunities to begin studies within the IAS Creative Industries Cluster in October 2025. We successfully recruited four funded students.



Principal Investigator

Creator Labour: Screen Production Cultures and Transmedia Intersectionality in Yorkshire


I was awarded a 14-month collaborative research grant (2021–2023) from the Screen Industries Growth Network (SIGN) with Co-Investigators at the University of Huddersfield and the University of Sheffield. This project has led to two journal articles published in Social Media + Society and New Media & Society, a book manuscript under advance contract with Manchester University Press, two industry reports, a documentary film, and two public engagement events.
